    Specific immunotherapy in allergy treatment.

    The position paper entitled "International Consensus on Allergy Immunotherapy" elaborated by the international expert group covering the world’s major Allergy Organizations i.e. European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, World Allergy Organisation, American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Clinical Immunology, American Collage of Allergy and Asthma lead by prof. Marek Jutel and prof. Cezmi Akdis (Davos, Switzerland), which was published in the Journal of Allergy an Clinical Immunology (JACI) is the most uploaded allergy article this year. JACI which is owned by the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Clinical Immunology is the most cited allergy journal (Impact Factor 11.476). Allergy Immunotherapy (AIT) is the most effective allergy treatment leading to tolerance of the common allergens. This article is the first of the series. The following one will be published in March 2016.

      On 6-10.06.2015 the International Congress of European Academy of Allergy and Clinical  Immunology took place (www.eaaci2015.com). The Congress  is the world's greatest forum for practitioners and researchers in the field of allergy, asthma and immunology. The employees of ALL-MED presented their research during the congress.

        At the meeting of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology Executive Comittee on 14 February 2015, prof. Marek Jutel was nominated to the vice-President - Treasurer of the Committee.

          Between 31.01.-02.01.2015 prof. Marek Jutel gave a lecture on specific Immunotherapy in atopic dermatitis during the Tête à Tête conference with a dermatologist at the invitation of the company Laboratoire Bioderma Dermatologique (teteatete-z-dermatologia.pl/program-naukowy)

            On 16-18.01.2015 distinguished guests: prof. Antonella Muraro - President Elect of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), prof. Ioana Agache - Vice President of EAACI, prof. Peter Hellings - Vice President of EAACI, prof. Lars Poulsen - Member of the Central Board of EAACI, prof. Carsten Bindstev - Jensen - Member of the Central Board of EAACI, and prof. Peter Schmid-Grendelmeier - Member of the Central Board of EAACI visited Wrocław at the invitation of Prof. Marek Jutel.

            The European Academy of Allergy and Immunology is the most important and largest organization in the world in its field, which brings together more than 8,000 members and is the leader of opinion on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of allergic diseases and asthma (www.eaaci.org).

            The purpose of the meeting was to develop EAACI position in the field of diagnostic tests in allergy for the Task Force  "In vivo allergy diagnostics - skin prick tests".

              Prof. Marek Jutel gave a plenary lecture at the World Congress of Internal Medicine in Seoul, Korea. He presented the current state and perspectives of allergen immunotherapy development.

                 On 7th Oct 2014 during a meeting of Beijing International Forum on Rhinology Prof. Marek Jutel gave a lecture entitled "Specific immunotherapy in the treatment of allergic rhinitis", at the invitation of the President-elect of the Chinese Society of Allergology. Promoting this method of treatment in China is a very important task of the European allergists, as a part of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology programm. Speech by prof. Marek  Jutel was met with a great interest  of the Chinese physicians who still have a very limited access to this type of treatment.

                  On 7-11.06.2014 the International Congress of European Academy of Allergy and Clinical  Immunology took place (www.eaaci2014.com). The Congress  is the world's greatest forum for practitioners and researchers in the field of allergy and asthma. The Congress attended more than 8 000 participants from around the world and it gathered nearly 400 faculty members from different countries, the leaders in research and clinical trials in the field of allergy and immunology.

                  ALL-MED employees were actively presenting the results of their research at the Congress:

                  • Sylwia Smolińska, PhD received two awards for the best presentations, e.c. in the session "Clinical Immunology", presenting the work "Reduced expression of histamine receptors in patients with IBD is associated with diminished influence of histamine on TLR-induced proinflammatory cytokine secretion" (http://m.pta.med.pl/2014/07/14/polacy-wsrod-najlepszych-na-kongresie-eaaci/)
                  • Katarzyna Solarewicz-Madejek, PhD gave a lecture entitled "Phenotypes of airways smooth muscle cells"
                  • Prof. Marek Jutel, MD gave a number of lectures,  as the most important on the immunological mechanisms of immunotherapy, in the Congress plenary session.

                  It should be noted that Prof. Marek Jutel was also a chairman of the scientific committee of the EAACI (www.eaaci.org) and was the main person responsible for the elaboration of the scientific program of the Congress.
